Darien's Harold H. Dean Sets World Record As Oldest Hockey Player

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien resident Harold H. Dean now holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest hockey player. 

Harold H. Dean competed in the 2015 USA Hockey National Championships in the over-70 division.

Dean, 86, a former Connecticut Superior Court Judge, played for the Puckaneers Ice Hockey Team in Oldsmar, Fla. Most recently competing in the 2015 USA Hockey National Championships in the over-70 division. His love of the sport began in high school and continued throughout college at St. Lawrence University.

Dean told the Darien Times that he still plays hockey three to four times a week.
